Janie At Night
by her parents (mostly her daddy)
At night we put our Jane to bed in her room down the hall.
Each morning when we see her she is not the same at all!

Her hair is wild, her blankets tossed. She really looks a fright!
It makes us start to wonder, what does Janie do at night?
We think that Janie starts to fly, when it gets really dark.
The angels take her out, you see, they fly down to the park.
They gather in a circle and look at trees and flowers.
They lay in grass, they laugh and play. Jane keeps them there for hours.
Then Janie says "On, to the books!" To the library they go.
And then those angels read to her, a book from every row.
Eventually the angels tire of reading for so long,
So they journey to the temple to sing Janie's favorite song.
"I love to see the temple," she makes a happy sound,
And smiles her biggest smile as they spin her round and round.
She's sleepy now, it's time to go. They take her down the hill.
"Ooooh," she says at all the lights; it's Janie's biggest thrill.
Gliding back into her room, her bears and owl await.
"Janie!" they call. Our baby smiles. "You stayed out very late!"
So if her hair is scraggly and looking quite a sight,
You'll only know that Janie did what Janie does at night!

Adapted from the book Snowmen At Night by Caralyn and Mark Buehner. It is a charming little tale! But don't take my word for it!

I love it! You need to make this into your own little book for Janie and read it to her!
